1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DesiPeeps ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Description of Service

DesiPeeps is a community platform that connects desi people through local activities, interest groups, and roommate matching. The Service is provided free of charge and is accessible via web browser. We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

4. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Guest access is available with limited functionality. Guest users cannot create activities, groups, or roommate listings, send messages, or interact with other users' content. Account sharing is prohibited.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Post hate speech or content that discriminates based on race, ethnicity, caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
• Send spam, promotional messages, or unsolicited advertisements
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Engage in any illegal activity or encourage others to do so
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access or collect data from the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or connected networks
• Circumvent any security features or access controls

6. Content Ownership and License

You retain ownership of all content you post on DesiPeeps, including activity descriptions, group information, roommate listings, comments, and profile data. By posting content, you grant DesiPeeps a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with operating and providing the Service.

You represent that you have the right to post any content you share and that your content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property or other rights.

7. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are prohibited on the Service:

• Sexually explicit or pornographic material
• Violent, graphic, or threatening content
• Content promoting self-harm or dangerous activities
• Misleading or fraudulent roommate listings or activity information
• Personal information of others shared without their consent
• Malware, viruses, or other harmful code

8. Activity and Group Guidelines

Activity organizers are solely responsible for the safety, legality, and logistics of their activities. DesiPeeps is a platform for listing and discovering activities — we are not an organizer, host, or sponsor of any activity. We disclaim all liability for any injury, loss, or damage arising from attendance at activities listed on the Service.

Global online activities are subject to additional moderation review to prevent spam and maintain quality. Activities may be queued for admin review before becoming publicly visible.

9. Roommate Listings, Lease Agreements, and Payments

DesiPeeps provides a platform for posting and discovering roommate listings. We are not a party to any rental agreement, sublease, or housing arrangement made between users. Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of listings, conducting their own due diligence, and complying with all applicable housing and rental laws.

Lease agreements: DesiPeeps is not responsible for the content, terms, or enforcement of any lease agreement between users. All lease arrangements are solely between the parties involved. We strongly recommend reviewing all documents carefully and consulting a legal professional before signing any lease.

Payments: All financial transactions related to roommate listings — including rent, deposits, and other fees — occur entirely outside of DesiPeeps. We do not process, facilitate, or guarantee any payments between users. Users should exercise caution, verify identities, and never send money to someone they have not verified.

10. Bazaar Marketplace

DesiPeeps Bazaar is a community marketplace where users can list items for sale, offer services, post rentals, or give away items. DesiPeeps is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. All dealings — including payment, delivery, and quality of goods or services — are solely between the parties involved.

No guarantees or refunds: DesiPeeps does not facilitate, process, guarantee, or insure any Bazaar transaction. We do not verify the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing. We will not provide refunds or compensation for any transaction conducted through the Bazaar.

User responsibility: Buyers and sellers are responsible for exercising caution. We strongly recommend meeting in public places for pickups, verifying items before paying, and never sharing personal financial information such as bank account details or passwords. Report suspicious listings or users immediately.

Tax obligations: Users are solely responsible for determining and fulfilling any tax obligations arising from transactions conducted through the Bazaar, including but not limited to income tax, sales tax, and any applicable reporting requirements. DesiPeeps does not issue 1099 forms, tax receipts, or any tax-related documentation. DesiPeeps does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. Consult a qualified professional regarding your individual tax obligations.

11. Star Rating System

DesiPeeps features a community-driven star rating system where users can give stars to other users to indicate trustworthiness and positive experiences. Stars are voluntary, can be given or removed at any time, and accumulate into reputation tiers displayed across the platform.

No verification: Star ratings reflect community sentiment only. They do not constitute an endorsement, background check, or verification of any user by DesiPeeps. A high star count does not guarantee the reliability, honesty, or safety of any user. Always exercise your own judgment.

Abuse: Manipulating the star system — including creating fake accounts to inflate ratings or coordinating to target users with mass removals — is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.

12. Moderation and Enforcement

DesiPeeps reserves the right to review, edit, or remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, at our sole discretion. We may use a combination of automated tools, community reporting, and manual review to moderate content. Repeat violators may have their accounts suspended or permanently banned.

13. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, for any other reason at our sole discretion, or for no reason at all, with or without notice. You may also delete your own account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DesiPeeps and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed $100 USD.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
